Built by hand, ten containers high
Island Joe’s Coffee & Gallery opened on Padre Island in 2014. The current shop is built from ten brightly colored shipping containers stacked over two floors — and the bar is made with wood salvaged after Hurricane Harvey.
The funky, friendly interior is filled with original artwork. Cold drinks are the specialty: try the Mexican Vanilla Cold Brew, or a smoothie like the Berried Up or the Coconut FroJoe with homemade coconut syrup and Mexican vanilla whipped cream.
